Job summary

Amgen invites undergraduates to join the Summer 2027 Technology, AI & Data team as an Intern – Machine Learning Engineer. You will help design, develop, and test scalable data pipelines ingesting data from diverse sources into enterprise data lakes and warehouses.

You’ll work with data engineers and scientists on model training, evaluation, and deployment, while exploring pharmaceutical datasets to derive insights. Expect hands-on learning, code reviews, and collaboration in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a full-time Bachelor’s degree program
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 or equivalent
• U.S. residency and able to work in the U.S. for duration of internship
• Commitment to full-time schedule and future employment by July 2028

Responsibilities

• Assist design, development, and testing of scalable data pipelines
• Contribute to model training, evaluation, and deployment workflows
• Analyze pharmaceutical datasets for data-driven insights
• Create visualizations and dashboards for internal stakeholders
• Collaborate with data engineers and scientists in ML operations (MLOps)
• Document technical processes, models and tools
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and team planning
