Job summary

The Travelers Indemnity Company is launching an Engineering Development Program (EDP) in Hartford, CT for aspiring Software Engineers. The one-year track-based program offers hands-on development, mentoring, and exposure to AI-enhanced practices and Agile environments.

Participants will rotate through Software, Data, Cybersecurity, or Infrastructure & Cloud tracks, with a five-week technical accelerator and broad learning opportunities.

Qualifications

• GPA of 3.0 or greater preferred.
• Majors include Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or related discipline.
• Exposure to object-oriented programming (OOP) in one or more major languages.
• Experience with algorithms, data structures, systems design, and networking.
• Knowledge of APIs and Web Development such as RESTful APIs and GraphQL.
• Familiarity with relational databases and SQL; NoSQL concepts are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to software design strategy by planning, developing, debugging, testing, and implementing software solutions.
• Participate in various tracks within the Engineering Development Program (EDP).
• Engage in mentoring, networking, and career guidance components.
• Occasional travel for meetings and events is expected.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
