Job summary

DCCA is seeking a Software Engineering Developer 1 in Colorado for ground software development and cloud-based systems. The role emphasizes Python microservices, Django web interfaces, and AWS cloud tools, with a strong focus on Agile, DevSecOps, CI/CD practices and leadership for junior engineers.

The position requires an active TS/SCI clearance, a BS degree in engineering or a related field, and 2+ years of experience. Final salary will align with the Colorado range and company policy.

Qualifications

• BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 2 or more years related experience

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain ground software for satellite data analysis, data exploitation algorithms, and data processing systems
• Perform microservice development using Python
• Interface with and help build full stack web applications using Python, Django, and cloud technologies (AWS with CloudFormation)
• Work with Agile, DevSecOps, CI/CD concepts using Jenkins and test automation
• Assist in cloud-based development environment configurations
• Perform unit-level software testing and support integration testing
• Provide system administration support for cloud environments or dedicated systems
• Provide leadership and mentorship of technical teams
• Collaborate with internal and external customers to maintain a positive work environment
• Provide tasking and technical direction to junior engineers, review work products
• Develop and maintain training materials
• Support risk and opportunity assessments

Software Engineering Developer 1

Candidates MUST have an active TS/SCI Clearance

Responsibilities

• Develop / maintain ground software for satellite data analysis, data exploitation algorithms, and/or data processing systems
• Perform microservice development using Python
• Interface with and help build full stack web applications using Python, Django, and cloud technologies (AWS with CloudFormation)
• Work with the following software development lifecycle concepts: Agile, DevSecOps, Continuous Integration (CI), and Continuous Deployment (CD) making use of Jenkins, test automation, and other tools
• Assist in the definition and implementation of commercial cloud-based development environment configurations
• Perform unit-level software testing for all assigned features and support integration testing as applicable to those features
• Provide system administration support for the cloud-based development environments or dedicated stand-alone systems identified in the program architecture
• Provide leadership / mentorship of technical teams
• Work collaboratively in a cross-discipline environment with both internal and external customers to maintain a positive and productive work environment
• Provide tasking and technical direction to junior engineers, and review work products at multiple levels
• Develop / maintain training materials
• Support risk and opportunity assessments

The proposed salary range for this position in Colorado is 108,000 to 138,000. Final salary will be determined based on various factors.
