DCCA is a veteran-owned IT business seeking a Software Engineering Developer 2 to join our Colorado team. You will contribute to ground software for satellite data analysis, develop microservices in Python, and help build full‑stack applications using Python, Django, and AWS.

Qualifications

• BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field required.
• 5+ years of related experience in software development.
• Active TS/SCI clearance required.
• Experience with Python, Django, and cloud-based environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop / maintain ground software for satellite data analysis, data exploitation algorithms, and data processing systems.
• Perform microservice development using Python.
• Interface with and help build full stack web applications using Python, Django, and cloud technologies (AWS with CloudFormation).
• Work with Agile, DevSecOps, CI/CD, Jenkins, and test automation.
• Provide system administration support for cloud-based development environments.
• Provide leadership / mentorship of technical teams.
• Collaborate with internal and external customers to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
• Review work products and provide direction to junior engineers, and develop training materials.

Key Tasks

• Develop / maintain ground software for satellite data analysis, data exploitation algorithms, and/or data processing systems
• Perform microservice development using Python
• Interface with and help build full stack web applications using Python, Django, and cloud technologies (AWS with CloudFormation).
• Work with the following software development lifecycle concepts: Agile, DevSecOps, Continuous Integration (CI), and Continuous Deployment (CD) making use of Jenkins, test automation, and other tools.
• Assist in the definition and implementation of commercial cloud-based development environment configurations
• Perform unit-level software testing for all assigned features and support integration testing as applicable to those features
• Provide system administration support for the cloud-based development environments or dedicated stand-alone systems identified in the program architecture
• Provide leadership / mentorship of technical teams
• Work collaboratively in a cross-discipline environment with both internal and external customers to maintain a positive and productive work environment
• Provide tasking and technical direction to junior engineers, and review work products at multiple levels
• Develop / maintain training materials
• Support risk and opportunity assessments

Required Education/Certifications: BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 5 or more years related experience. The proposed salary range for this position in Colorado is 130,000 - 161,000. The final salary will be determined based on various factors.
