Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in software development, integration, or test across the full software development lifecycle.
  • Experience with Agile or Scrum software development methodologies.
  • Experience supporting software integration and system-level testing in complex environments.
  • Demonstrated project or team leadership experience with responsibility for technical, schedule, and cost performance.
  • U.S. Citizenship required due to work location.

Within the Engineering & Technology Raptor Avionics Organization at Lockheed Martin Space, leads a software engineering team developing tools for spacecraft integration, verification, automated testing, data acquisition, and test equipment control. Provides technical and people leadership while driving mission success.

Manages software development activities. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Oversees the design, development, documentation, and testing of software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications. Information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Ensures software standards are met.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in software development, integration, or test across the full software development lifecycle.
  • Experience with Agile or Scrum software development methodologies.
  • Experience supporting software integration and system‑level testing in complex environments.
  • Demonstrated project or team leadership experience with responsibility for technical, schedule, and cost performance.
  • U.S. Citizenship required due to work location.
Desired Skills
  • Background supporting Special Test Equipment (STE) development and test environments.
  • Strong understanding of software verification, validation, and test automation techniques.
  • Experience coordinating across multidisciplinary teams during product development.
  • Experience with test environments such as vibration, shock, or thermal‑vacuum (TVAC) testing.
  • Proficiency with software integration, test automation, and debugging complex systems.
  • Experience using GitLab or other Git‑based version control systems.
  • Experience working in aerospace or high‑reliability systems (space, missile, defense).
  • Strong communication skills with ability to engage technical, program, and customer stakeholders.
  • Experience managing competing priorities, integration risks, and fast‑paced development schedules.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and lead cross‑functional technical efforts.
  • Experience contributing to technical proposals, planning, or estimation activities.
  • Strong experience in C, C++, Python, or similar programming languages.

Pay Information
Full‑Time Salary Range: $135700.00 - $251900.00
