Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a full-time software engineer to design, develop, test, and integrate software for defence space systems. You will work on front-end and back-end components using JavaScript and Java, and contribute to automated testing within CI/CD pipelines.

The role requires experience with containerized environments (Kubernetes, Docker) in cloud platforms and a strong track record in Agile environments, with TS clearance eligibility.

Our team leverages industry standard open-source software solutions such as GitLab, Kubernetes, Docker, and Rancher. You will have the opportunity to be a full-stack developer working on both front-end and back-end software using JavaScript as well as developing automated tests (unit tests, service level tests, and end-to-end tests) to ensure high quality software that is built into our continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines.
The information below reflects the standard job description for this position: Performs tech planning, design, devel, integ, v&v for total syst life cycle. Analyses performed at all levels of syst product incl. concept, design, fabrication, test, instl, operation, maintenance & disposal, incorp design methods & stds for Cyber Security, SW & HW infrastructure. Designs, devels, docs, tests & debugs SW that contains logical & math solutions to business/mission problems/questions in computer language. Ensures the logical & syst conversion of customer/product reqs into total syst solutions that ack tech, sched, cost constraints & align to SW & HW deployment pipelines & factories. Performs func & timeline analysis, detail trade & reqs allocation & interface defs studies to translate customer reqs into HW & SW feature defs & acceptance criteria. Applies stds, processes, procedures & tools throughout the devel life cycle. Applies HW & SW knowledge, cyber security stds in business/mission apps, & feedback from users to develop SW. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles doc of program devel & analyzes syst capabilities to resolve program problems, output/input data acq, programming tech & controls. Ensures SW stds are met. Validates incorp of features & use cases into implemented designs
Basic Qualifications

• Development experience with any of the following programming languages: Java, JavaScript, Python
• Experience with application containerization (Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, Containerd) in a cloud environment (AWS, Azure, OpenStack, OpenShift)
• Experience working in an Agile development environment, using tools such as JIRA and Confluence
• Experience with CI/CD - Deployment pipelines, automated build, and configuration tools
• Must be a US Citizen; Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Desired Skills

• Recent on-program experience as a technical software lead (e.g., architecture design, technical research, project management, define/enforce code quality standards, etc.)
• Development experience with Linux and shell scripting (e.g., bash, ash, ksh)
• Familiarity with the Space Domain
• Ability to communicate effectively and work in a collaborative environment
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing at a professional level
• Demonstrated ability to establish strong team relationships and deliver exceptional results

Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $81100.00 - $150500.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
