Job summary

Unity is seeking an experienced XR/engine developer to implement cutting-edge features in the Unity engine for AR/VR. You will work with the XR team and external partners to deliver cohesive experiences for developers.

You will integrate third-party SDKs for next-gen hardware, collaborate across teams, and participate in agile planning, QA, and automated testing to ensure high-quality code and reliable performance.

Job description

What you’ll be doing

• Implementing new technologies and innovative features into the Unity engine in support of XR.
• You will collaborate with other teams within the XR group, as well as our external partners, to help bring cohesive and user friendly experiences to developers.
• Working individually, or within a small group using Agile methodologies, to integrate third party SDKs for next generation hardware and software platforms.
• Working with new and existing hardware platforms to deliver a consistent development experience to our users.
• Ensuring quality by investigating reported issues, participating in code reviews and participating in ongoing meetings for project planning, status meetings, and QA updates.
• Writing automated tests around new or existing functionality; coordinating with embedded QA to establish standard methodologies, investigation of issues, and quality of code written.

What we’re looking for

• AR/VR/XR experience.
• C/C++ development experience.
• C# development experience.
• 3D Math proficiency.
• A willingness to use AI software code generation to accelerate your work while ensuring you know our software architecture to ensure the code you submit is the right solution.
• You might also have Prior development experience with Android, Windows or other platform-level software development using various native SDKs.
• Experience using Unity or similar game engines.
• A passion for future technologies.

Base Salary Range

We determine the base salary range for this role based on your primary work location: Zone A: $92,400 - $138,600 USD gross Zone B: $104,500 - $156,700 USD gross Zone C: $117,400 - $176,000 USD gross

This range reflects the anticipated base salary for this position. Beyond base salary, this role may be eligible for equity awards and participation in our company incentive plans (such as annual discretionary bonuses or sales commissions). The final offer amount will depend on several factors, including geographic location and the candidate’s relevant experience, professional background, and skill set.
