Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Software Engineer in Test Engineering and Operations in Hawthorne, CA. You will design, develop, and continuously improve Python-based analysis tools and data workflows to keep hardware checkout, testing, and flight operations reliable.

You will work with sensor data and CI/CD pipelines, deploying software in Linux environments and taking ownership of the full software lifecycle—from development to deployment and ongoing support—while collaborating with engineers across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering, math, or scientific discipline or 1+ years' professional OO language experience.
• Minimum of 1+ years of professional software development experience with Python.
• Experience in Linux environments, shell scripting, and deployments.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot Python-based analysis tools and data pipelines for hardware checkout and test operations.
• Design and deploy software interfacing with physical systems and instrumentation.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and Linux deployment workflows.
• Evaluate tools/processes; implement refactoring and automation to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Create software solutions that streamline workflows and reduce recurring tasks in hazardous operations.
• Own the software lifecycle from development to testing, deployment, and support.
