Job summary

Tensor is leading the development of weather-resilient autonomous driving technology. We are seeking data scientists to monitor, analyze, and optimize performance of weather-affected autonomous driving systems, and to develop simulations and tests to evaluate weather scenarios.

Join Tensor in San Jose, CA to design weather-aware ODDS and collaborate with cross-functional teams to push the frontier of autonomous, weather-tolerant autonomy.

Qualifications

  • Master’s or PhD in machine learning, computer science, robotics, or a related field.
  • Experience with sensor fusion and perception for autonomous vehicles or robotics.
  • Experience or a strong interest in developing solutions for adverse weather scenarios, such as heavy rain, snow, or fog.
  • Excellent communication, strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, analyze, and optimize the performance of autonomous driving systems under adverse weather conditions.
  • Design and run simulations and real-world tests to evaluate system performance under various adverse weather scenarios.
  • Develop and refine algorithms or machine learning models to enforce weather specific restricted Operational Design Domains (ODD).
  • Work closely with autonomous driving systems, system engineering and data science teams to integrate weather-related degrading profile and optimize the overall system performance.
