SpaceX in California seeks a Software Engineer for Starshield Products to design, deploy, and operate AI capabilities for U.S. federal agencies.

You will own the health, performance, and stability of integrations with government systems, building observable, resilient services and driving lasting fixes. Collaborate with product, research, infrastructure, and governance teams to meet mission needs while upholding SpaceX standards.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or another STEM discipline; OR 2+ years of professional experience in software development in lieu of a degree
• Experience with large language models, generative AI, or agentic systems across research, production, or applied engineering
• Experience with enterprise applications serving 10,000+ users across geographies/time zones
• Familiarity with government/public sector technology environments
• Strong product sense; translate stakeholder needs into concrete technical solutions
• Proven ability to write clean, maintainable, high-performance code under tight timelines
• Excellent communication to explain complex concepts to non-technical partners
• Experience with AWS/GCP/Azure, Docker/Kubernetes, API orchestration

Responsabilidades

• Own health, performance, and stability of integrations between frontier AI models and government systems
• Invest in documentation, metrics, monitors, and troubleshooting tools
• Respond to alerts, investigate issues, and drive lasting fixes for government customers
• Partner with agency stakeholders and adjacent teams to understand operational needs
• Prototype solutions and iterate rapidly based on real-world feedback
• Address technical debt and inform investments in core products
• Participate in on-call rotations during business hours and weekends
