Job summary

SpaceX’s Starshield team seeks an AI Security Software Engineer to design security-critical agents and automate defense. You will apply AI to detect and remediate security gaps within Starshield infrastructure, and guide AI integrations across systems.

Collaboration with multiple engineering teams is essential. You will work on security architecture for LLM-based agents, ensure robust cryptography, network and OS security, and participate in incident response and adversary detection.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or STEM, or 2+ years in security software development in lieu of degree.
• Experience with Python, C++, or Go and security-focused software development is expected.
• Experience designing security solutions for OS, distributed systems, or large-scale infra.
• Experience with LLMs, agents, or related AI topics.

Responsibilities

• Design and build security-critical agents for Starshield that automate network and systems defense.
• Leverage AI to discover and fix security issues in Starshield infrastructure and systems.
• Provide guidance and testing of AI integrations into Starshield systems.
• Identify areas for security improvements via automation and AI.
• Maintain and improve production security posture through implementation and cross-team guidance.
