Job summary

Lockheed Martin is seeking a Software Engineer Staff to develop advanced simulation solutions for airborne mission systems. You will integrate, test, and enhance software to support requirements and operational scenarios.

You will lead cross-functional teams, perform verification and validation, and guide future lab improvements within fast-paced environments. A U.S. citizen with a security clearance is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering/Technical Field is required.
  • Experience with C++ development and real-time simulation environments is essential.
  • Experience with Windows and Linux, and with networking protocols is expected.

You will be the Software Engineer Staff responsible for developing advanced integrated mission system simulation solutions that enables warfighters to shape requirements and operational implementation scenarios.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Software Engineer - Simulation & Integration you will be responsible for integrating, testing, and enhancing simulation software to support the development of airborne mission systems.

Your Responsibilities Will Include
  • Develop and maintain real-time distributed simulation software for aircraft and support systems.

Further Information About This Opportunity

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN -This position is located at a facility that requiresspecial access. The selected candidate must possess an active secretclearance.

Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering/Technical Field
  • Software Development Experience using C++
  • Experience developing software in Windows and Linux
  • Experience with cmake
  • Experience working with TCP/UDP, DDS, networking
  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies and tools, such as Jira
Desired Skills
  • Experience with visualization tools such as VRSG.
  • Experience with OMNI View
  • Experience with mission scenario development tools such as AFSIM
  • Experience with HOTAS controls.
  • Experience with aircraft heads-up displays.
  • Experience with aircraft simulators.
  • Experience with DIS, CIGI
  • Experience with real-time software development & integration
  • Experience with automated testing
  • Experience with software version control and tools, such as Git
  • Experience performing software integration in hardware-in-the-loop and/or man-in-the-loop simulation environments
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $135700.00 - $251900.00

  • Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
