Job summary

BI Incorporated, based in Boulder, Colorado, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop and lead high-complexity software within an Agile Scrum framework. The role emphasizes technical mentoring, architecture collaboration, and continuous improvement in software practices.

You will work with product teams and System Administration to ensure production readiness, quality controls, and efficient use of resources while staying current with evolving technologies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • At least four (4) years hands-on software development or relevant experience.
  • At least two (2) years development experience in an Agile environment.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Ability to receive client’s approval to work on contract required.
  • Must live in the United States 3 of the last 5 years (military and study abroad accepted).
  • In-depth software development experience and skills in: OO/Service-Oriented development, security, C#, ASP.NET and .NET Core, Angular 4, CSS, DHTML, jQuery, Xamarin, HTML5, iOS and Android, Visual Studio, Windows Server, EF 6.0, Telerik, Crystal Reports, SQL Server.

Responsibilities

  • The Senior Software Engineer designs, develops and documents technical aspects of software systems and related hardware interface components.
  • Provides technical leadership throughout the Agile development process.
  • Provides new solutions and works collaboratively with Enterprise Architecture.
  • Works with System Administration team supporting production environment, as needed.
  • Ensures defined quality controls are met to mitigate defects.
  • Provides strategies relating to quality and testing throughout the development process.
  • Provides leadership in the advancement of process improvements.
  • Works within an Agile Scrum team with minimum guidance.
  • Agile champion; participates in an Agile development environment.
  • Provides mentoring, technical leadership and guidance to software engineers in best practices.
  • Maintains knowledge of new technologies.
  • Participates in Sprint ceremonies.
  • Researches and designs new object-oriented techniques and frameworks.

Summary

The Senior Software Engineer develops and modifies software solutions of a high degree of complexity and scope, using a thorough knowledge of current software development techniques and capabilities within an Agile Scrum framework. Provides technical support to application engineers and lower level software engineers. Works to achieve the most efficient use of available computing resources through effective use of best practices and design patterns. May lead the work of lower level software engineers.
