Job summary

Snap Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Specs team to design, improve, and support components and SDKs powering immersive experiences on Snap Spectacles.

You will work on the operating system powering Spectacles, SnapOS, and collaborate across design, engineering, and product teams to ship new features. The role requires strong OO language skills (C++, Kotlin, Java), extensive testing, and clear communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Experience in object oriented languages like C++, Kotlin or Java.
• Experience delivering high quality, scalable code with extensive unit testing.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, improve, and support reusable components, interactions, frameworks and SDKs that enable immersive experiences on Snap Spectacles.
• Develop components of the operating system powering Spectacles, SnapOS.
• Participate in code and design reviews.
• Interact with design, engineering, and product teams to shape and launch products.

The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.Zone A (CA, WA, NYC) :The base salary range for this position is $209,000-$313,000 annually.Zone B :The base salary range for this position is $199,000-$297,000 annually.Zone C :The base salary range for this position is $178,000-$266,000 annually.This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
