Job summary

DS2 is seeking a Mid-Level Software Engineer to support Special Operations with mission-critical software solutions. You will design and deploy feature-rich mission planning apps, collaborate with teammates, and continuously improve code quality.

You will work with a team that values problem-solving, learning, and delivering results in a disciplined, secure environment. U.S. citizenship and background investigations are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in software engineering, CS, or a similar technical field with 6+ years of experience.
• Experience developing mission planning applications for USASOAC or similar units is preferred.
• Proficient in one or more of: C, C++, C#, Kotlin, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy, and demonstrate feature-rich mission planning applications for special operations.
• Collaborate with teams to test, peer review, and CI changes in the codebase.
• Research and prototype modern approaches to support next generation aviation planning.

We are looking to add a Mid-Level Software Engineer to support Special Operations.

Responsibilities — What you’ll do:

• Play a key role in designing, developing, deploying, and demonstrating feature-rich mission planning applications that support the nation’s most elite special operations warriors
• Work with your team to test, develop, peer review, and continuously integrate changes into the code base
• Conduct research for, report on, and create proof‑of‑concepts and prototypes for modern ways to support next generation aviation mission planning
• Learn emerging technologies and programming tools to keep you and your team as well equipped as possible

Required Qualifications — We need someone who:

• Has a bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar technical field and at least 6 years of experience
• Has a background in developing mission planning applications for USASOAC, with specific focus on supporting the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment
• Actively programs with one or more of the following languages: C, C++, C#, Kotlin, Java, JavaScript, or Typescript
• Is a motivated and energetic developer that manages time well and can prioritize tasks to ensure projects are completed on time
• Engages with teammates, both virtually and face‑to‑face, to plan projects, seek out or provide help on issues, as well as present solutions to clients
• Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation

Preferred Qualifications — Bonus points if you:

• Have experience using Windows Presentation Foundation for .Net Desktop Development
• Have experience using Web frameworks such as React, Node.js, Vue.js, Next.js, ASP.NET, or Angular
• Have any experience developing cross platform applications using Kotlin Multiplatform or .Net MAUI
• Have examples of code or applications you’ve built that we can check out
• Can demonstrate proficiency with AI‑Assisted software development workflows
• Received one or more Scrum, Microsoft, Google Developer certifications or any other technical certifications
