Apple, Inc. in San Diego is seeking a Software Engineer - SoC Level Validation Engineer to help design and validate next-generation processor systems.

You will work on directed and random SoC tests, collaborate with designers and architects, and contribute to validation goals across pre-silicon and post-silicon stages. The role emphasizes deep technical skills in C/C++ and assembly, plus hardware-software debugging and embedded programming.

Qualifications

• BS, MS or PhD in EE or CS required.
• Experience with SoC bring-up and CPU validation is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of both hardware and software debugging methods.

Software Engineer - SoC Level Validation Engineer

You’ll ensure Apple products and services can seamlessly and efficiently handle the tasks that make them beloved by millions. You find bugs. That’s exactly what we do. We break Apple Silicon with our bare metal system level SW suite that runs mostly post-silicon, leverages pre-silicon and finds corner-case hardware bugs. Minimum Qualifications

• BS, MS or PhD in EE or CS

Preferred Qualifications

• SOC and CPU knowledge; consider the following: Micro-architecture, Memory hierarchy, Interrupt and DMA, Clock and Power Gating, System level understanding, & Experience with SoC bringup
• C/C++ and Assembly language programmer
• Knowledge of Hardware and Software debug tools and methods
• Experience with embedded programming with an understanding of hardware-software interfaces

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $122,700 and $184,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
