Job summary

Lockheed Martin is seeking an experienced software leadership professional to design, develop, operate, and maintain embedded software and computing systems for defense and aerospace applications. You will coordinate subordinate recruitment, training, performance assessments, work assignments, salary planning, and disciplinary actions.

You will drive standard processes across the system development life cycle to support products such as avionics, flight control, space systems and other defense

Qualifications

• Must hold an active DoD Secret clearance or be eligible for one.
• Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science; other related degree with software exp.
• Experience with embedded development using a real-time OS.
• Ability to manage complex embedded software systems/programs.
• Process Improvement and Affordability experience.
• Software engineering management or team lead experience including planning, budgeting, subcontracting, and mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, operation and maintenance of embedded software and computing systems.
• Coordinate recruitment, selection, training and performance assessment of staff.
• Ensure adherence to SDLC standards, processes and tools across programs.
• Interface with customers, suppliers, and support personnel to deliver complex defense software.
• Oversee budgets, task planning and engineering management activities.

Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Oversees the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support the generation of such engineering applications and products such as laboratory simulation systems, airplane flight control and display systems, avionics, mechanical and electrical systems, weapons armament, commercial and military aircraft systems, mobile and ground-based defense systems, space systems, and other systems and applications of this nature. Insures the interface with customers, suppliers, application users, and other technical and support personnel.

Basic Qualifications

• Must currently hold an Active DoD Secret Security Clearance to be considered for this position

• Experience with embedded development using a real-time operating system
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical embedded software systems/programs
• Process Improvement and Affordability experience
• Software engineering Management or Software engineering Team Lead experience including task planning, budget management, subcontract management and/or employee development and mentoring

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $98100.00 - $182100.00

• Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
• For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
