Job summary

DCS Corporation seeks a Weapons Delivery Software Engineer to support CWDS, CASES, JSEAS, and GWTS across multiple USAF platforms. You will coordinate with Air Combat Command and other agencies, draft requirements, review features for technical validity, and ensure solutions meet customer expectations.

The role requires extensive communication with pilots, instructors, and contractors, plus the ability to multi-task, manage security with classified material, and participate in regular meetings

Responsibilities

• Recommend and draft requirements.
• Review features to ensure the requirement is valid and technically accurate prior to assignment.
• Recommend additions, deletions or changes to software development.
• Verify the accuracy of Help File content altered by Contractor personnel to include other content experts.
• Ensure feature/user story/bug resolution prior to final development effort submission for customer acceptance.
• Attend iterations/sprints, scheduling, director's calls, weekly staff, and development meetings.
• Assess training, syllabus, and mission scenarios to reflect current tactics and procedures.
• Provide analysis of existing testing cases and recommend changes to improve software baseline and measure testing objectives.
• Build a knowledge base of clients' mission, organization, and objectives.
• Manage day-to-day client interaction, identify needs, expectations, and evaluate alternative solutions.
• Maintain accountability records for classified material to include transfer and destruction of material.
• Communicate progress, risks, expectations, timelines, milestones, and other key project metrics to clients and team members.

Job description

The Weapons Delivery Software Engineer supports the delivery of Combat Weapon Delivery System (CWDS) software, Common Advanced Safe Escape Software (CASES), Joint Safe Escape Analysis Solution (JSEAS) software and Guided Weapon Trajectory Software (GWTS) for multiple USAF fighter and bomber aircraft.

Essential Job Functions:

Astrion requires operator interface coordination and liaison with users at Air Combat Command, Air Force Materiel Command, Air Force Research Laboratory, various Test Wings, Weapons School instructor/students, squadron pilots and various contractors (BAE, LMI, Boeing etc.).

Recommend and draft requirements.

Review features to ensure the nature of the requirement is valid and technically accurate prior to assignment.

Recommend additions, deletions or changes to software development.

Verify the accuracy of Help File content altered by Contractor personnel to include other content experts.

Ensure feature/user story/bug resolution prior to final development effort submission for customer acceptance.

Attend meetings (i.e., iterations/sprints, scheduling, director's calls, weekly staff, technical and development working groups, weapons tactics briefings, and conferences).

Assess training, syllabus, and mission scenarios, to ensure courseware and training documents reflect current tactics, techniques, and procedures.

Provide analysis of existing testing cases and recommend changes to improve software baseline and measure the proficiency of testing objectives.

Build a knowledge base of clients' mission, organization, and objectives.

Manage day-to-day client interaction, identify needs, expectations, and evaluate alternative solutions.

Maintain accountability records/receipts for classified material to include transfer and destruction of material.

Communicate progress, risks, expectations, timelines, milestones, and other key project metrics to clients and team members.

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science plus 10 years of experience (Masters preferred).

Possess or have ability to obtain Secret Level security clearance.

Previous Fighter/Bomber Pilot/Weapon Officer and 10 years Active/Guard/Reserve military experience required.

Combat Weapon Delivery experience withGP Bombs, Laser Guided Bombs (LGBs),Precision Guided Munition (PGMs) and20/25/30mm Strafe Weapons.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Ability to multi-task and work both in a team and independently.

Must be organized, detail-oriented, and customer service focused.

Desired Skills:

Fighter Weapons School Graduate with 20 years experience.

Master's Degreeis desired.

Knowledge of and familiarity with Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS),

Familiar with or has knowledge of Next-Generation Open Mission Systems (NOMS) for mission planning,
