Job summary

Awetomaton seeks a Software Engineer to integrate a Python-based prototype with operational message types and infrastructure at the Boulder BGIF. You will wire the prototype to data interfaces and deployable systems, preparing for testbed and eventual production use.

The role emphasizes strong Python development, containerized environments, and collaboration within a small team. On-site work in Boulder, CO is required plus an active SECRET clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• At least 1 year of professional Python development experience.
• Experience developing modular, reusable, and testable software.
• Experience integrating software components through structured messages, APIs, or other defined interfaces.
• Experience with container technologies such as Docker or Podman.
• Experience with Linux-based development and deployment environments.
• Proficiency with software configuration management using Git.
• Active SECRET security clearance.
• Ability to work on-site at the BGIF in Boulder, Colorado.

Responsibilities

• Lead software integration to connect the Python-based prototype to operational message types, systems, and infrastructure.
• Transform research software into a reliable, maintainable application for testbed deployment.
• Prepare and transition software for deployment in Kubernetes environments.
