Job summary

TECHEAD is hiring a Software Engineer for a fully remote role in the United States. You will design, build, and maintain web applications across a modern stack including Python (FastAPI) on the backend, Vue.js on the frontend, and PostgreSQL for data management.

You will work across the stack to build high-performance REST APIs, responsive UIs, and efficient database architectures, collaborating with DevOps, UI/UX, and product managers in an Agile setting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience with full-stack web applications.
• Strong Python with FastAPI experience.
• Hands-on PostgreSQL including schema design and queries.
• Knowledge of RESTful API design, Git, and async programming.
• Eligible to undergo a background investigation for Public Trust clearance.

This position is fully remote / work from home.

We are seeking a versatile Software Engineer with 3+ years of experience to join our engineering team. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain robust web applications across our full tech stack, contributing to modernizing and scaling our core application infrastructure. Our core tech stack centers on Python (FastAPI) on the backend, Vue.js on the frontend, and PostgreSQL for data management. You will work across the stack to build high-performance REST APIs, responsive user interfaces, and efficient database architectures.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, test, and maintain backend APIs using FastAPI and modern, interactive user interfaces using Vue.js.
• Design, optimize, and maintain relational schemas, complex queries, and migrations in PostgreSQL.
• Optimize application performance, refactor legacy components, and ensure high availability, security, and scalability across the stack.
• Design secure, well-documented RESTful APIs and handle data pipeline or microservice integrations.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code (unit and integration testing). Follow secure coding best practices required for federal/government systems.
• Partner with DevOps engineers, UI/UX designers, and product managers in an Agile development environment.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience working with full-stack web applications.
• Strong proficiency in Python with hands-on experience using FastAPI (or comparable modern Python web frameworks like Flask or Django).
• Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, including schema design, query optimization, and ORMs (e.g., SQLAlchemy).
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design, Git version control, asynchronous programming in Python, and software design patterns.
• Must be eligible to successfully undergo a background investigation to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
