Job summary

Getty Digital is seeking a software developer to join the Research Applications Development team. You will help design, build, and maintain applications that present Getty's collections and scholarship to researchers and the public. This 3-year limited-term role offers a hybrid work arrangement with on-site days in Brentwood.

You will work with Vue.js, Python/Flask, and a stack including Elasticsearch, IIIF, and Linked Data. Collaboration, code reviews, and documentation are core practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 2–5 years software development experience.
• Experience with Vue.js or React and NPM/Vite.
• Proficiency in Python and Flask.
• Familiarity with Elasticsearch and Docker/Kubernetes/AWS.
• Knowledge of RDF/Linked Data and IIIF.
• Commitment to web accessibility (WCAG).

Responsibilities

• Help design, build, and maintain an ecosystem of applications presenting detailed information about the Getty's collections and scholarship.
• Assist in the technical implementation of new features and applications.
• Participate in the day-to-day work of software development and testing.
• Help maintain and upgrade existing applications.
• Perform code reviews and provide feedback to peer developers.
• Assist in writing documentation.
• Follow Getty policies and best practices for software development.
