Job summary

SAIC seeks a Principal Level Software Developer to design, develop, and deploy a next‑generation Agentic AI Platform, spanning front‑end, back‑end, and cloud infrastructure for autonomous workflows. You will build responsive UIs, RESTful services, and production‑grade components that scale across teams.

Contribute to agentic AI modules with LangChain, LangGraph, and LangSmith, and deploy on AWS with OpenSearch, SageMaker, Lambda, and SQS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering with 9+ years of experience or a Master's with 7+ years.
• Pass CompTIA Security+ within 270 days of employment.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
• Experience building front-end web apps using HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
• Experience developing backend services and APIs (RESTful) in Python/Java/NodeJS.
• Strong problem-solving skills in a fast-paced Agile environment.

Position Overview

SAIC's STG is seeking a talented and motivated Principal Level Software Developer to join our growing team focused on the design, development, and deployment of a next-generation Agentic AI Platform. In this role, you will contribute to building intelligent, autonomous agent frameworks and modern web applications that support complex decision‑making workflows. You will work across the full development stack — from crafting intuitive front‑end user experiences to building robust backend services and cloud infrastructure components.This opportunity can be worked remotely anywhere within the United States for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain front‑end web applications using modern web technologies
• Build and style responsive, ensuring a polished and effective user experience
• Develop and maintain backend REST services and business logic to support platform capabilities and agentic AI workflows
• Contribute to the development of agentic AI components, including integration with frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, and LangSmith
• Support development and deployment of cloud‑based services and infrastructure on AWS, leveraging tools such as OpenSearch, SageMaker, Lambda, and SQS
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Packer, and Terragrunt
• Collaborate with AI/ML engineers, architects, and product owners to translate requirements into scalable, production‑ready solutions
• Support testing, debugging, and performance optimization of platform components
• Maintain documentation for system architecture, APIs, and development processes
• Provide feedback and mentoring to junior developers

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field and 9 years of experience or a Masters and 7 years of experience
• Pass CompTIA Security Plus Examination within 270 Days of Employment
• Must be a U.S. Citizen, no-dual citizenship
• Candidates must have the ability to get a Secret Security clearance
• Experience building front‑end web applications using core web technologies: HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Experience developing backend services and APIs, including RESTful service design and complex business logic implementation, using languages such as Python, Java, or NodeJS
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, collaborative agile environment

Preferred

• Front‑End Development: Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and ReactJS for building modern, component‑based web applications. Ability to effectively style and design front‑end applications for usability and visual consistency
• Backend & AI Development: Python development experience, particularly for backend service development. Hands‑on experience with Agentic AI frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, and/or LangSmith. Familiarity with multi‑agent orchestration, autonomous workflow design, or LLM integration patterns
• Cloud & Infrastructure: Experience with AWS cloud services, including one or more of the following: OpenSearch, SageMaker, Lambda, SQS
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, including: Terraform, Packer, Terragrunt
• Familiarity with DevSecOps practices

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
