Job summary

Optimus Technology seeks a Software Engineer to advance ML-driven analytics and prototype a suite of operational tools. The role supports telework up to two days weekly and centers on cloud-based, multi-tenant environments.

You will work with Python, ML libraries, and modern DevOps practices to deploy models and analytics for mission-focused problems. Laurel, MD-based with hybrid work flexibility.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year hands-on MLOps experience, including fine-tuning and operationalizing small ML models.
• Proficiency in Python and related libraries (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, Matplotlib, Seaborn, PyTorch, Keras, spaCy, GLiNER).
• Experience with cloud platforms and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS).
• Strong software development skills in Java and JavaScript frameworks (Angular, React).
• Experience with large language models (LLMs) and model deployment pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Develop ML-driven prototypes and scalable analytics in cloud environments.
• Apply state-of-the-art data science techniques for behavioral, geo-temporal, and content analysis.
• Prototype, test, and operationalize ML models to support mission problems.
• Collaborate across teams to integrate ML solutions into multi-tenant systems.

Software Engineer (potential for telework)

• Laurel, MD

Telework: Possible up to 2 days a week if tasking is available but not guaranteed.

Leveraging advances in data science to support challenging analytic problems including information overload, discovery, attribution, tracking, and assessment. Develop an evolving suite of operational prototypes driven by state-of-the-art data science techniques for behavioral, geo-temporal, social, and content analysis against full-scale collection in robust, flexible, and multi-tenant cloud environments. Research to advance the science of machine learning and statistics in mission problems.
