Job summary

McKesson Corporation is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and support mission-critical pharmacy automation software. You will work on Windows desktop applications (C++/MFC), backend services, and RESTful integrations, collaborating across product, QA, and operations teams.

You will translate requirements into reliable software, integrate with robotics and hardware, and continually improve performance, reliability, and maintainability.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent experience required; typically 4+ years.
• Experience developing Windows-based software with C++ and MFC.
• Experience with multi-threaded or distributed applications.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL (SQL Server or MySQL).
• Experience with Git and version-control; CI/CD and automated testing.
• Ability to participate in an evening/weekend on-call rotation.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support software for large-scale pharmacy automation systems.
• Enhance Windows-based applications using C++ and MFC.
• Build and maintain scalable backend services, distributed systems, and RESTful APIs.
• Translate requirements into reliable software solutions.
• Integrate software with robotics and industrial automation equipment.
• Investigate production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Monitor performance, reliability, and availability; improve maintainability.
• Apply source control, code review, automated tests, and CI/CD practices.
• Collaborate across engineering, product, quality, deployment, and ops teams.
• Participate in customer discussions, reviews, and solution-design sessions.
• Contribute to architecture discussions on system integrations and modernization.
• On-call rotation for evenings and weekends.
