Job Description: Software Engineer at Early Warning

Engineering at Early Warning (EWS) comprises diverse teams focused on various platforms, capabilities, and products that support major banks across America, including Zelle and Paze. These capabilities are often provided through APIs or integration points, enabling innovation and stakeholder collaboration.

Overall Purpose

Develop, document, test, debug, and maintain software applications, collaborating effectively with team members to fulfill backlog requirements.

Essential Functions

• Develop features to enhance Early Warning’s core products.
• Manage source code with Git.
• Query platform data using SQL databases.
• Work on Java Web Services with Spring Boot.
• Track work in Jira and document decisions in Confluence.
• Build automated tests integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
• Submit pull requests and incorporate team feedback.
• Troubleshoot bugs during development.
• Support risk management and data integrity efforts.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• No prior work experience required.
• Familiarity with Git, automated testing, SQL, and RESTful services.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
• Background and drug screening required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional relevant education or experience.
• Experience with Spring Boot, SOAP, XML, JSON, NoSQL, Kafka, Docker/Kubernetes.
• FinTech experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements

Primarily sedentary work in an office environment, requiring extensive computer use. Ability to lift 10 pounds occasionally. Must have visual acuity and communication skills. Reasonable accommodations can be provided.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary ranges vary by location: $100,000 - $120,000 in Phoenix/Chicago, and $110,000 - $130,000 in NY/SF, plus discretionary bonuses and benefits.
