Belk, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer to write and maintain code for retail applications, focusing on performance, maintainability, and reducing technical debt in line with roadmaps. You will participate in Agile planning and guide teams toward viable solutions across platforms.

Responsabilidades

• Participate in Agile planning with Product Management to understand customer challenges and design viable solutions.
• Advise on processes, technology, and interfaces to improve team effectiveness and reduce technical debt.
• Forecast capacity requirements for components and identify limitations.
• Provide input into story sizing, backlog grooming, and release planning.
• Contribute to product and solution design to address critical issues and complex problems.
• Build software applications across multiple platforms to meet stakeholder needs.
• Understand architecture and write software and automated tests aligned with agreed standards; perform troubleshooting as needed.
• Provide ongoing application support, monitoring, and maintenance of deployed products.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and provide technical guidance and oversight.
• Stay up-to-date on new software technologies and share insights with the organization.

The Software Engineer writes and maintains code within applications and systems to implement capabilities and features, improve performance and maintainability, while reducing technical debt in alignment with product and technology roadmaps. Plays a role in Agile planning, providing advice and guidance, and monitoring emerging trends.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’sor Masters Degreein Computer Scienceorrelatedfield; equivalentcombinationofindustryrelatedprofessionalexperienceandeducation
• 2-5 yearshands-on Oracle RetailXstorePOS development, Oracle databases, OracleEFTLink, and knowledge ofRTLoggenerator andXenvironment.
• 2-5 yearsexperiencewithdeal and promotionengines.
• 2-5 yearsdeepexpertisein Java11/J2EE, SQL databases(Oracle, PostgreSQL)
• 3-5 yearsSpring and related frameworks, and/or peripheral integrations likereceiptprinters,scanners, and PIN padsinXstorePOS.
• 2-5 yearsproven experience with payment integrations (e.g., Verifone, ACI, Adyen, Worldpay,etc.).
• 2-3 yearsexperience withOracleXmobileandThin Clientarchitectures, along withAndroid developmentexperience in a retaildomain.
• Experiencerealizingapplicationsfromconceptionanddesign,toimplementationandsupport
• Experiencewithrelationalanddimensionaldatamodeling
• Experiencewithapplicationlifecyclemethodologies(e.g.agile,iterative)
• Experienceinanalysis,designandprogramming
• Experiencewithappropriatedatabasetechnology

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiencywith source code management tools (e.g., Git), Jira, and Confluence
• Experience in Data Integration projects or hands-on experience with ETLdata points.
• UnderstandingofDevSecOpspractices, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Exposure to test automation frameworks and performance tuning in high-volume retail systems.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Advanced knowledge inrequirementsgathering, solution architecture, system design, development, implementation, and post-production support for highly scalable, high-volume retail software.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL with relational databases (e.g.,Oracle 19c, PostgreSQL)
• Payment & Core Retail Engines:Strong engineering background in retail-specific logic, including custom Deal & Promotion engines, loyalty programs, and direct payment integrations (e.g., ACI, Verifone,Worldpay).
• Hands-on development and configurationexpertisein Oracle RetailXstorePOS,Xenvironment, ACI, andRTLoggenerator, with a proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex POS application issues.
• Ability to understand and communicate the business impact of technical issues.
• Collaborateswithprojectteamsonapplicationandmoduledesignthatachievesthequalityattributesofperformance,scalability,andavailability.
