Collective is hiring a Software Engineer in the San Francisco Bay Area to join a fast-growing engineering team. This role targets 0–2 years out of school and focuses on building financial products for self-employed individuals across the U.S.

You'll work with Product and Design to ship features quickly, learn from senior engineers, and contribute to a scalable, automated platform using Python/Django and React/TypeScript in a hybrid SF environment.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of experience in software engineering.
• Product mindset with customer impact.
• Willingness to learn Generative AI and LLMs.
• Proficiency in a core programming language and building real projects.

Responsibilities

• Drive end-to-end implementation of features impacting solopreneur financial outcomes, from design to launch.
• Integrate AI tools (Generative AI/LLMs) to build intuitive, automated user experiences and scalability.
• Contribute across the full stack (Python/Django, React/TypeScript) to develop core features and automate workflows.
• Collaborate with Product and Design to translate requirements into high-impact product experiences.
• Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and planning to elevate engineering practices.
