Job summary

Meta is seeking a senior engineer to lead the design, development, and rollout of a cloud-native host networking platform. You will oversee Kubernetes networking, network virtualization, load balancing, and distributed firewalling, setting technical direction and coordinating across diverse teams and partners.

The role requires deep experience in Kubernetes networking and hands-on coding in C/C++, Python or shell, plus experience with automated test suites.

Qualifications

• Requires 10 or more years of relevant software development experience, or a PhD with at least four years of relevant experience.
• Hands-on production Kubernetes networking experience.
• Proficiency in C/C++ plus Python or shell scripting.
• Experience developing automated test suites and aligning across disciplines.

Job description

Lead the design, development, and production rollout of Meta’s cloud-native host networking platform, including Kubernetes networking, network virtualization, load balancing, and distributed firewalling. Set technical direction, deliver iterative production milestones, and coordinate interfaces and outcomes across compute, storage, platform, security, hardware, and open-source partners.

Requirements: Requires 10 or more years of relevant software development experience, or a PhD with at least four years of relevant experience, along with hands-on production Kubernetes networking experience and proficiency in C/C++ plus Python or shell scripting. Candidates must also have experience developing automated test suites and aligning across disciplines; preferred qualifications include high-performance networking, Linux internals, hardware-accelerated networking, DPU or SmartNIC platforms, and hyperscale environments.
