Job summary

Strongbridge Corporation is seeking a Software Engineer to build and support software products used by the Department of Transportation and the public to enhance roadway safety. You will work with a technical lead, perform agile development, and contribute to design reviews while maintaining robust, long-lasting solutions.

Ideal candidates have a CS degree and 4+ years in OO languages and full-stack .NET/Angular development, plus solid SQL Server experience and modern web UI skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 4-10 years of software development experience.
  • 4+ years writing object-oriented code in C#, C++, or Java.
  • 4+ years building .NET Framework, and ASP.NET Core web apps/APIs.
  • 2+ years building full-stack apps with ASP.NET MVC, Angular, and Bootstrap.
  • 4+ years designing relational DB objects (tables, views, stored procedures, indexes).
  • 4+ years of MS SQL Server and SSMS.
  • 4+ years creating rich web interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript.

Responsibilities

  • Receive tasks from Technical Lead and estimate development timelines.
  • Follow agile sprint cycles; unit test modules and assist testing.
  • Peer-review colleagues' work and incorporate feedback.
  • Document design decisions and technical details.
  • Maintain source control in Azure DevOps or GitHub.
  • Develop robust software solutions for long-term service.
  • Take on additional responsibilities and grow in role.

Job description

Candidates must be clearable for a Public Trust Position – must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident or is authorized to work in US, who has lived in the US for the more than 3 years.

The Software Engineer will build, and support software products used by the Department of Transportation and the public at large to help ensure the safety of drivers and passengers on public roadways.

  • Receive tasks and requirements details from Technical Lead. Analyze the scope of work and provide estimated development timelines.
  • Follow agile sprint-based development schedule. Unit test modules prior to handing them off to the Test Team. Assist the Test Team with load/performance/throughput testing where required.
  • Peer-review the work of colleagues and provide feedback for improvement. Accept constructive feedback from colleagues and grow your skillset on the job.
  • Take notes during meetings, ask questions to obtain clarifications where needed. Document design decisions and technical details.
  • Maintain source code version control in Azure DevOps/GitHub.
  • Work independently if needed. Implement, document, and maintain robust software solutions that will be in service over multiple years.
  • Take on additional responsibilities over time and advance your career.
Required Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (CS) or related field.
  • 4-10 years of work experience in software development or related field.
  • 4+ years of writing objectoriented code in C#, C++, or Java.
  • 4+ years of building.net Framework, and ASP.NET Core web applications or APIs.
  • 2+ years of experience building full-stack web applications using ASP.NET MVC (server-side), Angular (front-end), and Bootstrap (UI framework).
  • 4+ years of designing objects in relational databases (tables, views, stored procedures, indexes).
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
  • 4+ years of creating rich web application user interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript.
Desired Skills
  • Experience designing, developing, and deploying cloud-native applications using containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud environments.
  • Experience with development in Azure Cloud using Azure Data Lake Services, Data Factory, Synapse analytics, SQL Managed Instance etc.
  • Experience with Google Workspace and Gemini.
  • Familiarity with desktop UI frameworks like Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) preferred.
  • Familiarity with JSON, XML and XSLT.

Pay Range: $115,000 - $150,000

The posted pay range reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity.
