Job summary

Amazon Music is hiring a software development engineer to design and build search services powering content discovery across voice and visual clients. You will work on scalable, multi‑tier systems and deliver end‑to‑end search features, from design to deployment, with a focus on reliability and performance.

You will collaborate with product, science, and engineering teams worldwide, participate in code reviews, and mentor others while shaping the next generation of search technology for Alexa,

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non‑internship software development experience.
• 2+ years of design/architecture experience for scalable systems.
• 1+ years in software development engineer or related role.
• 1+ years designing and developing large‑scale distributed software using C#, C++, Java or Perl.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
• Experience programming with at least one software language.

Responsibilities

• Design and build search services and distributed data stores powering content discovery.
• Deliver search features end‑to‑end from requirements to deployment and operation.
• Participate in code reviews and mentor teammates on clean code.
• Investigate issues, identify root causes and drive permanent fixes.
• Collaborate with product, science and engineering partners to improve search quality.
