Job summary

Machina Cognita Technologies is seeking a Software Engineer for an onsite, full-time role split between Point Loma and Carlsbad in San Diego. The ideal candidate has DoW clearance, 2–5 years of software development experience, and expertise with Docker/Kubernetes.

You will design and deliver features across the full software lifecycle, collaborating with clients and engineers to solve complex problems. Responsibilities include prototyping, API development, architecture input, and pilot

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
2–5 years of professional software development experience.
Active DoW security clearance required for this role.
Proficient in command-line tooling and shell scripting.

Responsibilities

Build proof-of-concept prototypes and client demonstrations to win contracts.
Design, develop, and launch new features, applications, and services.
Contribute to system architecture and technical design discussions.
Monitor system performance and resolve issues to improve reliability.
Develop and maintain APIs, integrations, and backend services.
Run pilot implementations, troubleshoot issues, and drive resolution.
Collaborate with product manager and engineers to translate client needs into solutions.
Travel to client destinations to facilitate product delivery and support.
