Job summary

STR’s Intelligence Division is seeking a Software Engineer to develop, integrate, test, and maintain software that supports advanced analytics, machine learning, and intelligence workflows. You will transform requirements and designs into reliable software components and contribute across the full development lifecycle.

The role offers opportunities to grow technical depth, own defined components, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on mission-critical systems.

Qualifications

• MS or BS in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, or related technical discipline with 2 years of relevant experience.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a Secret or Top Secret clearance.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, C++, Java, Go, or similar).
• Experience developing, testing, debugging, and maintaining software through coursework, internships, research, professional work, or personal projects.
• Strong fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, software design patterns, and Git.
• Familiarity with unit testing, debugging, documentation, code review, and secure software-development practices.
• Ability to work effectively on a technical team and communicate progress and blockers clearly.

Responsibilities

• Develop software components, services, APIs, data-processing capabilities, tools, or user interfaces.
• Deliver assigned capabilities from requirements and technical designs for well-scoped features and fixes.
• Support integration and test activities across unit, integration, system, and regression testing; troubleshoot issues.
