Job summary

Expleo Group is seeking a Software Engineer for Marine Training Systems to sustain and enhance deployed training and simulation software within secure defence environments.

You will contribute across software development, testing, troubleshooting and deployment in a multidisciplinary team, supporting software updates and customer deployments throughout the lifecycle. This is a full-time, on-site role with opportunities to advance within defence and maritime projects.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Systems Engineering or related STEM discipline.
  • Equivalent technical qualifications and relevant industry experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, modify and maintain software applications for training and simulation systems.
  • Support testing, verification and validation activities.
  • Investigate and resolve software defects and issues.
  • Assist with software patching, Windows updates and system maintenance.
  • Support integration involving software, hardware interfaces and networked systems.
  • Participate in release activities including FAT, TRR, TCR and customer deployments.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation and engineering records.
  • Support troubleshooting and root cause investigations.
  • Assist with deployment and installation at customer sites.
  • Collaborate with software, systems, integration and support teams.
  • Follow established engineering processes, quality standards and security requirements.

Job description

Expleo is seeking a Software Engineer – Marine Training Systems to support the maintenance, enhancement, integration and deployment of advanced training and simulation systems operating within secure defence environments.

Working within a multidisciplinary engineering team, the successful candidate will contribute to software development, testing, troubleshooting and deployment activities across a range of operational training and simulation platforms. This role offers an excellent opportunity for engineers looking to further develop their software engineering capabilities within a complex defence and maritime environment.

The position is focused on sustaining and improving deployed systems, supporting software updates, capability enhancements, system maintenance and customer deployments throughout the product support lifecycle.

This role is based full-time on-site, working directly alongside customer engineering and assurance teams throughout programme execution.

What Do I Need Before I Apply
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain UK Security Clearance (SC).
  • Willingness to work within secure defence facilities and controlled environments.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to customer locations
  • Must be eligible to work in the United Kingdom.
  • Ability to support deployed systems during planned maintenance, upgrade and deployment activities when required.
