Job summary

Google is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead the backend infrastructure powering Remix features in YouTube, and to guide a team of engineers across multiple sites. You will manage large-scale systems and collaborate with Shorts Discovery to drive Shorts Creation.

As part of the Shorts Creation Infrastructure team, you will help build horizontal infrastructure for media generation and Shorts creation, leading the work across AI-enabled and traditional flows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 5 years of experience with software design and architecture.
• 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.
• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field (preferred).
• 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms (preferred).
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction (preferred).
• 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects (preferred).

The product surfaces we serve include Shorts Creation, Effects, Posts, and YouTube Studio.

In this role you will be responsible for the team and backend infrastructure that powers Remix features (both AI and non-AI) in YouTube. You will also partner with Shorts Discovery to drive Shorts Creation.
