Job summary

A leading retail technology firm is looking for a Software Engineer to design and develop internal programs. With 5 years of relevant experience, you'll manage projects and support critical systems. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools such as WebSphere MQ is ideal. This is a remote position with a preference for candidates near Salisbury, NC.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical or analytical role.
Proven ability to independently manage small to medium-sized projects.
Experience supporting mission-critical enterprise systems.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Familiarity with Agile methodology and product/platform-based models.
Experience in the retail or grocery sector.

Responsibilities

Responsible for designing, developing, modifying, and evaluating programs for internal functional areas including finance, human resources, and marketing.
Analyzes existing programs or formulates logic for new systems, devises logic procedures, prepares flowcharting, performs coding, and tests/debugs programs.
Develops conversion and system implementation plans.
Prepares and obtains approval of system and programming documentation.
Recommends changes in development, maintenance, and system standards.
Trains users in conversion and implementation of system.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical or analytical role.
Proven ability to independently manage small to medium-sized projects.
Experience supporting mission-critical enterprise systems.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; able to evaluate complex technical issues
Familiarity with Agile methodology and product/platform-based models.
Methodologies: Agile, JIRA, SDLC
Tools & Platforms: WebSphere MQ, System Monitoring Tools, MS Office
Core Skills: Application Systems, Management, Innovation, Clear Communication, Technical Support/On Call – Service Now.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in a Programming or technical role.
Experience in the retail or grocery sector.
