Position Overview

We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer – Track Server (C2BMC) to support the U.S. President, Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders. The role is essential to the Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program, a key component of the Missile Defense System.

Essential Functions

• In‑depth analysis and technical support for systems software products.
• Design, development, testing, operational integration, and user support for software.
• Maintain currency, debug, and configure related software.
• Develop or modify operating‑system applications from specifications.
• Assist with coding, benchmark testing, debugging, and documentation.
• Interface with other system support groups to resolve issues and improve overall efficiency.
• Design, code, test, and implement tools for operational automation.
• Work across all phases of software systems programming, requiring minimal instruction.

Basic Qualifications

• A current, active DoD‑issued Secret clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Aerospace, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field with 5 years experience; or Master’s degree with 3 years experience; or 9 years relevant experience.
• Experience in software engineering with Java/J2EE or other object‑oriented development.
• Knowledge of coding standards, automated testing, automated build pipelines, and configuration management.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
• Problem‑solving skills including performance review, root‑cause analysis, and solution design.
• Experience with Maven, Git/GitHub, Nexus, Eclipse, and Agile development methodologies.
• Understanding of Use Cases and SysML diagrams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with DevSecOps and build management.
• Experience developing enterprise applications on Linux (Windows experience acceptable).
• Experience with command and control system application development.
• Experience with software integration and formal testing.
• Knowledge of Cyber Security/RMF requirements.
• Ability to present advanced concepts to non‑software engineers and senior leaders.
• Experience with performance modeling.
• Willingness to take on unanticipated tasking.

Compensation and Benefits

Primary Level Salary Range: $108,800.00 - $163,200.00 (may include overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonus, and other incentives).
