Job summary

Qualifications

• Eight (8) years' experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity; Bachelor's degree required; Four (4) years additional SWE experience may substitute for a degree.
• Experience analyzing user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.
• Experience designing and coding new software or modifying existing software to add features.
• Ability to debug existing software and correct defects.
• Experience integrating existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments.
• Experience developing simple data queries for databases or data repositories.
• Experience providing recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards.
• Experience developing or implementing algorithms to meet performance and functional standards.
• Ability to assist with developing and executing test procedures for software components.
• Experience writing or reviewing software and system documentation.
• Experience analyzing systems flow, data usage and work processes to inform software solutions.
• Experience overseeing one or more software development teams and ensuring work adheres to process constraints.
• Experience modifying existing software to adapt to new hardware or improve performance.
• Ability to design, develop and modify software systems using mathematical models to predict outcomes.
• Experience designing or implementing complex database interfaces/queries.
• Experience implementing complex algorithms with strict timing/resource/interface constraints; perform quality control on team products.
• Experience conferring with system/hardware engineers to derive software requirements and interfaces.
• Experience coordinating software system installation and monitoring equipment functioning to meet specifications.
• Experience implementing recommendations for improving documentation and process standards.

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Ability to develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements
• Ability to work individually or as part of a team review and test software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results and resolve software problem reports
• Ability to utilize software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment
• Ability to provide specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components

• Experience designing or implementing complex database or data repository interfaces/queries
• Experience designing or implementing complex algorithms requiring adherence to strict timing, system resource, or interface constraints; Perform quality control on team products
• Experience conferring with system engineers and hardware engineers to derive software requirements and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces
• Experience coordinating software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure operational specifications are met
• Experience implementing recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards

Compensation Range: $95,886.34 -$220,748.43
