Block's Lending Engineering team is seeking a Software Engineer to advance lending systems and scale. You will partner with risk, legal, product managers, and other engineers to build APIs and financial primitives, taking ownership from hypothesis to production.

You will contribute as an IC or lead on atomic building blocks for the intelligence layer. You have 5+ years delivering quality software in complex systems, with curiosity to identify flaws and the resilience to fix them across scale and

Responsibilities

• Partner with credit risk, legal & compliance, product managers and engineers on Lending.
• Lead or contribute to projects from hypothesis to production capability.
• Build financial primitives and API-level building blocks for the intelligence layer.
• Design APIs with uptime, latency, compliance, and cost-per-transaction in mind.
• Share learnings and support team capability.
• Operate and manage existing Cash App services and mentor peers.
