Amentum is seeking a Software Engineer Lead for onsite roles at Chidlaw Building and Peterson Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO. You will lead software teams to design, develop, and deliver reliable mission software that meets customer requirements.

The role emphasizes full-stack development, containerization, DevSecOps, and secure coding practices, with opportunities to mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• 12+ years general work experience
• 10+ years of directly related experience as a Software Developer
• Experience leading software development teams
• Experience mentoring junior software developers
• Experience developing technical solutions to meet defined requirements
• Detailed understanding of containers, and experience containerizing applications
• Experience working within an Agile development team and completing tasks on time

Responsibilities

• Lead software engineering teams in design, development, and delivery of reliable mission software
• Develop and integrate full-stack applications with containerization
• Maintain high standards of code quality, security, and testing across the lifecycle
• Collaborate with product owners, scrum-masters, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams
• Advocate for modern development practices, including automation, DevSecOps, and CI/CD pipelines
• Mentor and support junior developers
• Understand cybersecurity principles and compliance requirements relevant to mission systems
• Balance hands-on development with strategic leadership responsibilities
