As a Software Engineer Principal within PNC's Retail Technology organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Strongsville, OH, Birmingham, AL or Dallas TX. Responsibilities require time in the office or in the field on a regular basis. This may also be a remote position. Work may be performed from a quiet, confidential space in a home location, approved by PNC. This position may not be available in all geographic locations.

As a Software Engineer Lead, you will be support the development of the messaging platform within the Distributed Messaging Group. In this role, you will be responsible for participating in any deployment release activities. Additionally, you will work with our testers to address bugs or defects before proposing and designing solutions. As a Software Engineer Lead, you will also be responsible for serving as a mentor for other members of the team

Due to the nature of this position, we are seeking candidates with a proficiency in Java development. Candidates should also be experienced with Kafka streaming, as well as Mongo and Oracle Database.

• Creates and leads the technical design and development of software solutions.
• Proposes & designs software solutions to address complex business needs. Prepares technical and procedural documentation required.
• Facilitates complex problem resolution.
• Provides technical guidance and support to colleagues. Reviews coding, testing, and documentation of software.
• Applies modern principles, methodologies and tools to advance business initiatives and capabilities.
