Job summary

We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Software Engineer to join our team.
As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing complex software capabilities for computer-based systems.
Will work closely with other talented engineers to create software solutions that meet the needs of our clients.

Requirements

A current U.S. Government Security Clearance is desired but not required; **U.S. Citizenship required.** Can also consider candidates with a current Secret or TS level clearance.
Must have at least 9 years' experience in Software Engineering, Modern Java Frameworks and Libraries (e.g. Spring, Guava) Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
Required experience building and maintaining Kubernetes deployments using tools like helm and flux.
Must have a strong Java software development experience.
Experience in designing enterprise APIs.
Experience in RESTful web services.
Must be experienced in Microservices architecture.
Should have experience with the agile software lifecycle.
Has a proven ability to learn quickly and works well both independently as well as in a team setting.
Experience with the Linux operating system.
Experience with configuration management tools (e.g. Git, Nexus, Maven).
Demonstrated experience serving as a tech lead, mentor, or manager for engineering teams.
Must be able to work in a hybrid environment, spending an average of 1-2 days per week at our Columbia, MD office and/or 1-2 days per week at our customer site. Flexibility is essential to adapt to schedule changes as needed.
Preferred Requirements
Experience in cloud-based technologies (AWS, Azure) desired.
Desired experience designing and writing custom kubernetes tooling like operators and custom CRDs.
Preferred experience with programming languages such as golang and python.
Experience with writing automation in CI/CD tooling such as gitlabs CI pipelines.
Experience in distributed databases, NoSQL databases, full text-search engines (e.g. Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Solr).
Scripting experience is a huge plus.
Prior experience or familiarity with our Big Data Platform is a plus.
Understanding of AGILE software development methodologies and use of standard software development tool suites. (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Github Enterprise, etc.

Demonstrates extensive experience in Java software development, Microservices architecture, and Kubernetes deployments, while effectively leading and mentoring engineering teams in a collaborative environment. Proficient in designing enterprise APIs and RESTful web services, with a strong understanding of agile methodologies and modern development tools.
