Job summary

PAE Government Services Inc. in Nebraska is seeking a software engineer to develop, test, and maintain applications under the guidance of senior engineers. You will write clean, efficient code and participate in code reviews, collaborating with product managers and designers.

The role requires a BS in CS/SE, 0–2 years of experience, and familiarity with Java, Python, C++, or JavaScript. Git experience, DoD 8570 readiness, U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, SE or related field.
• 0–2 years of software engineering experience.
• Basic understanding of Java, Python, C++, or JavaScript.
• Familiarity with data structures, algorithms, and OOP.
• Knowledge of Git or other version control systems.
• Ability to lift 30 lbs.
• Some travel may be required (<10%).
• DoD 8570 certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Essential Functions:

• Develop, test, and maintain software applications under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code

• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects

• Learn and apply best practices in software development, security, and performance.

Required Experience:

• Bachelor’s of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field
• 0-2 years of experience in Software Engineering
• Basic understanding of programming languages such as Java, Python, C++, or JavaScript.
• Familiarity with data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
• Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git).
• The ability to lift 30 lbs.
• Some travel may be required (less than 10%)
• Current Security+ or other DoD 8570 Certification or ability to obtain certification within six (6) months of start date
• The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship or U.S. naturalization

Salary and Other Compensation

The annual starting salary for this position is between $70,000 - $85,000 annually. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
