Job summary

Sunrise Systems in Urbandale, IA is seeking a senior Software Engineer for an 18-month W2 contract. You will design and implement scalable backend services in Scala, run in AWS, and contribute to the system architecture while clearly describing your problem-solving approach.

You'll work in an Agile team, practice TDD, and own critical components from RESTful APIs to data access layers. Onsite work is required until further notice; frontend experience and familiarity with Akka/Http4s are a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on experience with Scala.
• Profound insight of Scala internals (class loading, memory management, concurrency, futures).
• Building low-latency, high-volume, distributed backend systems with RESTful APIs.

• Looking for strong senior backend Scala developer preferably with AWS Cloud experience
• A coding exercise is required as part of the interview process.
• Position will be onsite until further notice
