Taktile offers a dedicated 6-month internship in Berlin for HPI students, starting April 2027. You will join an engineering team, ship real features, and receive mentoring. This hybrid role requires 3 days/week onsite in Berlin and English fluency in a remote-first environment.

Ideal candidates have strong CS fundamentals, exposure to AWS/Lambda, and frontend experience with React. You will learn across backend and frontend layers with experienced engineers.

About the role

Banks and fintechs use Taktile to automate critical decisions, like credit, fraud, and compliance, in real time.

We're building the infrastructure that makes financial institutions truly AI-native, and we've partnered with the Hasso Plattner Institute (HPI), a leading computer science institute in Europe, to offer a dedicated opportunity designed only for HPI students.

Starting in April 2027, you'll join one of our engineering teams for 6 months in Berlin and ship real features, with experienced engineers mentoring you along the way. Several HPI alumni already work here, from early-career engineers to senior engineers leading major parts of our product.

This program is tailored for Computer Science students eager to gain hands-on industry experience while building the foundations for a world-class engineering career.

What You'll Do

• Depending on your final team, either work on backend components written in Python / FastAPI, hosted on an AWS serverless architecture, or work on React/Typescript front-end components, or a combination of both!

• Engage actively in team rituals such as daily syncs, planning sessions, demos, and technical deep-dive discussions.

• Grow as an individual and accelerate your career by learning from our experienced team, contributing to a foundational layer of the product, and joining cross-team learning groups.

Requirements:

• Taktile is a hybrid company that requires working 3 days/week from our Berlin HQ in Germany.

• Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is essential as we operate in a remote environment requiring clear and effective communication.

• Strong engineering fundamentals with a passion for simplicity and precision.

• Availability for a 6-month full-time internship.

Required Experience

• Fantastic Computer Science fundamentals. Data structures, algorithms, networking, distributed systems, databases, and everything in between!

Ideal, But Not Required

• Exposure to AWS, especially Lambda.

• Experience with frontend development - React or similar frameworks.

About Your Employment.

Taktile operates through regional entities worldwide. Depending on the location of this role, your employment or engagement will be with Taktile LLC (US), Taktile GmbH (Germany), Taktile Ltd (UK), or Taktile SRL (Romania). The applicable entity will be confirmed during the offer process.
