Job summary

Gordon Food Service in North America invites interns to join our software engineering team for a 12-week paid program at our Home Office. You will work on the Gordon Ordering eCommerce platform, contribute to feature development, and collaborate across departments to deliver impactful results.

Interns will gain mentorship, participate in agile ceremonies, and have exposure to CI/CD, AI-assisted tooling, and cloud-based deployments on Google Cloud Platform.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a university pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or CIS or related STEM field.
• Authorized to work in the US.
• GPA 3.0 or higher required.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to feature development, enhancements, and API integrations across Gordon Ordering eCommerce platform using Java/Spring Boot and Angular.
• Build, refine, and automate CI/CD pipelines and testing suites in Google Cloud Platform (GKE, Cloud SQL PostgreSQL).
• Collaborate on developer efficiency initiatives, including AI-assisted tooling, test harnesses, and code quality workflows.
• Participate in agile ceremonies with engineers, architects, UX designers, and product owners.

Build a Career: In the software engineering department by:

• Contributing to active feature development, enhancements, and API integrations across the Gordon Ordering eCommerce platform using Java/Spring Boot and Angular.
• Building, refining, and automating CI/CD pipelines, unit/integration testing suites, and database interactions within Google Cloud Platform (GKE, Cloud SQL PostgreSQL).
• Collaborating on developer efficiency initiatives, including evaluating and implementing AI-assisted engineering tools, automated test harnesses, and code quality workflows.
• Participating fully in agile software development ceremonies (daily standups, sprint planning, bi-weekly reviews, and retrospectives) alongside engineers, architects, UX designers, and product owners.

Meet the following qualifications to be considered for our 2027 internship program:

• Currently enrolled in a university pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Information Systems (CIS), or a closely related STEM discipline.
• Must be authorized to work in the US.
• Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher.
