Job summary

Docusign is seeking a Software Engineer Intern to help build and enhance the MSF Envelope service as we move toward a microservices architecture. You will design, implement, test, and document envelope capabilities including email, templates, and related services, collaborating with experienced engineers and partners.

You will gain hands-on experience in distributed systems, service design, and high-scale production engineering in a supportive, learning-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program with expected graduation between December 2027 and May/June 2028.
• Pursuing a major in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Experience in software development, including writing, debugging, and testing code.
• Role not eligible for CPT, OPT or sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers and product partners to design and implement features in the MSF Envelope service that support the envelope lifecycle (e.g., email flows and related services).
• Write, test, and debug code for microservices and related components, following team standards for code quality, reliability, and observability.
• Participate in code reviews, stand‑ups, and design discussions, learning best practices for building and operating production services at scale.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation for features and services you help build, including APIs, configuration, and operational runbooks.
• Partner with your mentor and teammates to break down problems into well‑scoped tasks and deliver work in small, iterative increments.
• Help improve existing systems by investigating issues, analyzing root causes, and contributing fixes under guidance from senior engineers.
