Job summary

Garmin is seeking a Software Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 at its U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area.

You will learn to develop software for Garmin’s navigation and communication products under supervision and contribute to real-world projects across Embedded, DevOps, Mobile and Web teams. Ideal candidates are pursuing CS/EE/CE degrees with strong GPA, good communication skills, and experience in C/C++, Java, or C#.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a field relevant to perform the essential functions of this job description
• Excellent academics (GPA ≥ 3.0)
• Demonstrated strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Experience/training in a high-level language such as C, C++, C# or Java relevant to Garmin’s business needs
• Experience/training in data structures or object-oriented design relevant to Garmin’s business needs
• Outstanding academics (GPA ≥ 3.5)
• Previous experience working in a team environment

Responsibilities

• Learn to develop software in C, C++, or other selected languages for Garmin’s products
• Learn to test software using debuggers, emulators, simulators, and logic analyzers
• Learn to perform software releases and software quality assurance activities
• Learn to perform maintenance activities for products already in production in addition to new product software design
• Associates are expected to integrate, use, and provide feedback on products in development when possible as part of their normal job responsibilities
