Job summary

TikTok is offering an Software Engineer Intern (AI Agent & Global Revenue Platform) position for Summer 2027 in San Jose. You will help design AI Agent systems and contribute to the backend of a high-performance, globally deployed CRM platform supporting billions in revenue and millions of advertisers.

You will collaborate with Product, Operations, Sales, and Data Science teams to translate AI capabilities into measurable growth.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related discipline.
• Hands-on experience with AI Agents and Multi-Agent workflows (e.g., autonomous task execution, agent collaboration).
• Deep familiarity with engineering patterns such as MCP (Model Context Protocol), RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), and Code Embedding.
• Experience with big data components including Spark, OLAP engines and Flink is a plus, but not required.
• Familiarity with Elastic Search and key/value stores (Redis, Memcached etc) is a plus.
• Familiarity with Message Queue (Kafka, RabbitMQ, RocketMQ etc) is a plus.
• Familiarity with CRM platforms and Ad Sales automated processes is a plus.
• Experience with Java is preferred.
• Experience with Spring Boot and/or other Microservice frameworks is preferred.
• Experience with relational databases (MySQL, Postgres etc) is preferred.

The hourly rate range for this position in the selected city is $45- $60.

Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location.

• Interns also receive 10 paid holidays per year and paid sick time (56 hours if hired in first half of year, 40 if hired in second half of year).
• Interns who are not working 100% remote may also be eligible for housing allowance.
