Job summary

Garda Capital Partners, a leading investment firm, is seeking a Software Engineer Intern for the Research and Technology team in our New York office for Summer 2027. You will develop new lines of business solutions using Python and SQL, and support design and implementation of front office and risk systems.

You will work with senior staff, gain exposure to the financial trading industry, and contribute to in-house and third-party applications while learning in a fast-paced, high-energy

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Quantitative Finance
• Experience with the Python ecosystem of libraries and working knowledge of at least one statically typed language
• Strong CS fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, operating systems)
• Familiarity with object-oriented programming
• Strong problem-solving skills and commitment to high standards for code
• Interest or prior experience in the financial trading industry (fixed income a plus)
• Ability to work effectively in a high-energy, time-sensitive team environment
• Detail-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows and debugging

Position Responsibilities

• Aid in the development of new lines of business solutions using Python and SQL.
• Support senior staff in designing and implementing complete solutions for our front office/risk systems.
• Provide support for in-house and 3rd-party applications.

Qualifications & Desired Skills

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Quantitative Finance
• Experience with the Python ecosystem of common libraries and working knowledge of at least one statically typed language
• Good grasp of computer science fundamentals (e.g. data structures, algorithms, operating systems etc.)
• Familiarity with object-oriented programming
• Strong problem-solving skills and commitment to high standards for code
• Interest or prior experience in the financial trading industry (particularly in fixed income) a plus
• Ability to work effectively in a high-energy, time-sensitive team environment
• Detail-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows, paired with the ability to write and debug code without them.

Base Salary for this role is expected to be between: $50 — $50 USD
