Job summary

NorthSouth Consulting Group is seeking a motivated Software Developer to design, develop, and implement modern web applications. You will perform systems analysis, design, integration, and documentation for complex applications as part of an Agile team, focusing on high-quality, scalable, and secure software solutions.

This fully remote role in the United States requires 5–8 years of experience, strong Java/Spring Boot skills, Angular frontend expertise, and experience with AWS and APIs.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in a related field and 5–8 years of software engineering experience.
• Strong Java and Spring Boot experience.
• Frontend proficiency with Angular, HTML5, and CSS.
• Experience with Node.js for backend services or tooling.
• Cloud experience, preferably AWS.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban).
• OOP principles and secure coding practices.
• U.S. Citizenship required and active Security clearance or ability to obtain one (SECRET).

Responsibilities

• Full-Stack development of web applications using Java/Spring Boot (backend) and Angular (frontend).
• Implement responsive UI using HTML5/CSS and Angular templates.
• Develop and deploy applications in AWS cloud environments.
• Design and consume RESTful APIs for inter-service communication.
• Modernize legacy apps toward cloud-native architectures.
• Test, troubleshoot, and enhance software for performance and reliability.

This role is fully remote.

Additional Roles / Responsibilities:

• Full-Stack Development:Develop and maintain robust applications usingJava/Spring Bootfor backend services andAngularfor the frontend.
• UI/UX Implementation:Build responsive and appealing front-end interfaces usingUI templates,HTML5,CSS, andAngular.
• Cloud Integration:Develop and deploy applications in a cloud environment, utilizingAWSservices.
• API Development:Write and consume effective RESTful APIs to ensure seamless communication between system components.
• System Modernization:Contribute to efforts to translate legacy applications into modern, cloud-native architectures.
• Quality Assurance:Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency, and collaborate on troubleshooting, debugging, and upgrading applications.

Minimum Qualifications, Certifications and Education Requirements:

• BA/BS in a related field with 5-8 years of experience as a Software Engineer.
• Strong experience withJavaand theSpring Bootframework.
• Proficiency in front-end development withAngular,HTML5, andCSS.
• Experience withNode.jsfor backend services or build tooling.
• Hands-on experience with cloud services, preferably in anAWSenvironment.
• Experience with Agile development processes (e.g., SAFe, Scrum, Kanban).
• Experienced with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
• Must be a US Citizen
• Possess an active CompTIA Security+ / IAT level II certification.
• Possess a SECRET security clearance or have the ability to obtain one.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience writing SQL for a major database (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL).
• Experience with API design and documentation (e.g., JSON, OpenAPI).
• Familiarity with source control tools like Git.
• Experience with vulnerability analysis and remediation.
